DotLog is built so that we never need your data. This page explains what the app and this website keep, where it lives, and who can see it. Questions go to support@dotlog.app.
The app
DotLog collects no data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind, in the iPhone, iPad or Mac app.
- Your log stays on your device. Tasks, events, notes, descriptions, links and reminders are stored in a database on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- Sync uses your own iCloud. When iCloud Sync is on, your log is copied to the private database in your iCloud account so your other devices can read it. That storage belongs to you, and Apple’s privacy policy covers it. We cannot see it.
- Reminders are local notifications. They are scheduled by your device and never pass through a server.
- Dictation happens on your device where your device supports it. DotLog asks for the microphone and speech recognition only when you tap the microphone, and keeps no recordings.
- Widgets read today’s tasks from a shared space on the same device. Nothing leaves it.
To remove everything, delete DotLog from each device. To remove the synced copy, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then iCloud, Manage Storage, and delete DotLog’s data.
This website
The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and runs no tracking scripts. Cloudflare hosts it and keeps short-lived logs of requests to run and protect the service.
When you contact support
The support form keeps what you send: your name, email address, the topic, the device, the app version if you give it, and your message. Alongside it we keep a few details about the visit so we can tell a real request from spam: your country and region, your browser and type of device, the page you came from, how long the form took, and a one-way code made from your IP address with a key that is thrown away after two days.
We use these details to answer you, and for nothing else. We do not sell or share them and we do not add you to a mailing list. Requests are deleted once they are no longer needed, and anything marked as spam or moved to the bin is deleted after 30 days. Copies of the notification emails our system sends are cleared after 30 days.
Cloudflare hosts the site and its database. Resend delivers the email that tells us a request has arrived.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@dotlog.app from the address you used, and we will do it within a month.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
